I created this website for my students at Westborough High School. It is intended to be a resource tool for students to access at home and in school. You will use it to obtain homework assignments, the latest study skill packets, term projects, research information, report and format guidelines, class handouts, and much more. In addition, you will have the opportunity to view examples of other students' work. Sometimes just being able to see what's expected can make all the difference in the world.
The site is also a portal to distant lands for young history detectives. Trust me when I say - you are in for the adventure of a lifetime. Here, you will be able to have fun while you search out the facts to solve the mysteries of the ages...
I hope that you will ask your parents to visit the site too, so that they can share the adventure with you.
This will be my 10th year of teaching after spending more than thirty years in politics, marketing and advertising. Quite frankly, it is the best thing I can think of doing during my retirement years. One of the great joys of the teaching profession is the opportunity to meet some truly amazing young people. In many respects, I find that each year of teaching is like boarding a plane; you just never know who is going to be on it or what is going to happen next. For example, one of my students, Michael Makhlouf, traveled to Lebanon two summers ago with his family. His story, "My Summer Vacation in a War Zone" is must reading. You can read what happened to Michael and his family on the "Stories" page of the website.
I am glad you dropped by! If you are a former student, please do not leave without sending me an E-mail. It would be great to hear how you are doing. For those of you who have me as your teacher for the first time, this is where a new batch of history detectives is created each and every year. Here you will learn that history is exciting, important, and relevant. Click on a tab above to begin solving the latest mystery. If you find any typing mistakes or broken links, please let me know so that I can fix them.

On a personal note, several of my former students from Marlborough High School, where I taught for the first three years of my teaching career, have joined the Marines and will be shipped out to Iraq this year and returned safely. One of them, Bill Walsh (on the left), served in Iraq and just returned from Afghanistan. While I don't have a son or daughter serving there, it sure does bring the war much closer to home and more personal than ever before. I pray for their safe return.
